The + Create button in the top left of your Doodle calendar is your starting point for everything you need to organize your time and collaborate with others. Click it to see a menu with six options, each designed for a different use case.
Meeting
Use Meeting to add a calendar event - a one-time or recurring appointment with a set time and date.
The Meeting form lets you:
Set a start and end time, or tick All day for a full-day event
Choose a date and set a recurrence (e.g. weekly, monthly)
Set your Timezone
Add guests by name or email
Add a video conferencing link — choose from Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, or Zoom
Add a location
Write a Description using the rich text toolbar (bold, italic, lists, and more)
Set the event as Private or public, and mark your availability as Busy or another status
When you're done, click 'create' to add the meeting to your calendar.
Focus Time
Use Focus Time to block out a period on your calendar when you don't want to be interrupted. It's ideal for deep work, preparation time, or any stretch where you need to stay heads-down.
The Focus Time form lets you:
Set a start and end time
Set a date and recurrence
Choose an intensity level (light or strict)
Choosing strict will auto toggle on the option to auto decline any invites, but you can choose to turn this off.
Toggle Auto-decline meetings on or off - when enabled, Doodle will automatically decline meeting invitations during your focus block, and you can customize the decline message
Add notes in the description field
Mark the block as private and set your availability status (free or busy)
Click create to add the focus block to your calendar.
Out of Office
Use Out of Office to let others know you're unavailable - for holidays, travel, or time away.
The Out of Office form lets you:
Set a start and end date
Set a recurrence if needed
Toggle Auto-decline meetings -when on, Doodle declines incoming meeting requests on your behalf with a message like "Declined because I'm out of office"
Choose a calendar and set your status to OOO
Click 'create' to block the time on your calendar.
Virtual Room
The virtual room option lets you quickly start a conversation with one or more people. Select a single person to open a direct message, or choose multiple people to create a shared room - all with the same set of communication options available either way.
Within a virtual room and a direct message, you have the option to start a video chat, send text messages, share and receive links, and access video recordings.
Please note: this feature is an add on and is only available on education and enterprise accounts. If you are interested in this feature for your team, our sales team would be happy to speak with you about the best package for your organization.
Booking Page, Group Poll, and Time
The last four options in the Create menu are Doodle's scheduling tools for coordinating with others and for organizing your tasks:
Booking Page — Share a link that lets others book time directly on your calendar, based on your availability. Learn more: How to create a Booking Page.
Group Poll — Find a time that works for a group by sending a poll where participants vote on their preferred slots. Learn more: How to create a Group Poll.
Time — Team and Enterprise feature that allows you to quickly find available time with your team members by scanning their calendar available. Learn more: How to use the Find Time feature to schedule meetings
Tasks — Create a to-do item you want to track and optionally schedule on your calendar. Learn more: How to create and manage Tasks.
