How the My Time dashboard is organized

Understanding My Time: Your Doodle Control Center

Written by Kimberly Ford

My Time is where everything about your day lives. From the moment you open Doodle, it's your home base- showing your schedule, your tasks, the people you work with, and the things you need to get done, all in one place. This article walks you through each part of the page so you know exactly what to click and when.

The left sidebar

The left sidebar is your main navigation.

The + Create button, which lets you create new events, tasks, focus times, out of office blocks, times with others, booking pages, or group polls.

For more details about what you can create in Doodle visit What can I create in Doodle Time OS?

Below that are the two main sections of Doodle:

The top bar

Across the top of your My Time view, you'll find several controls that shape how you see your day.

Click 'today' to jump back to the current date at any time. Use the < and > arrows to move forward or backward by day (in Day View) or by week (in Plan).

Calendars, in the top bar, shows how many calendars are connected and lets you manage which calendars feed into your My Time view. Click it to add, remove, or toggle connected calendars.

The People and Tasks icons also live in the top bar, to the right of Calendars - click People to open your contacts panel, or the Tasks icon to see your task count and open your task list.

Day View

Click Day View to see a focused, hour-by-hour view of a single day. This is your go-to for understanding exactly what's happening right now and what's coming next.

What you'll see in Day View:

  • Your events - each meeting or appointment appears as a block with its title, time, location (if set), and participant count. Click any event to see its full details.

  • Breathing room -short gaps between meetings are labeled as breathing room, so you can see at a glance where you have natural pauses.

  • Free Time - longer unscheduled blocks are labeled "Free Time for X minutes" so you can spot open windows without counting.

  • Next meeting countdown — Doodle shows you how long until your next meeting (e.g. "Next meeting in 90 m") so you never lose track.

  • Overlap periods - when two or more events overlap, Doodle shows them side by side under an "Overlap period" label, so you can see the conflict clearly.

  • Tasks icon in the top bar - click it to see your upcoming tasks, grouped by urgency (Overdue, Due Today, Upcoming). Click + Add Task to create a new task directly from this view.

Joining a meeting from day view- When a meeting is about to start (or is in progress), a join button appears directly on the event card. Click it to jump into the call without opening a separate app or hunting for a link.

Event quick actions- Click any event to expand it and see options including running late, clear my day, add participants, send email, and more options to make schedule changes or updates seamless.

Week View

Click Plan to switch to a weekly grid view. Where Day View is about focus, Plan is about the bigger picture- spotting patterns, finding open time, and thinking ahead.

What you'll see in Plan:

  • Week grid - your full week is shown in columns by day, with time slots running down. All events from all your connected calendars appear here in color.

  • Week selector - use the week dropdown to switch between a standard week view and other time range options.

  • Overlap and density - on busy days, events stack side by side so you can see how packed a day is at a glance. Dense columns = busy days; empty columns = open time.

Clicking an event in Plan- Click any event block to see a popup with its full details -title, time, duration, recurrence, focus type, and organizer - without leaving the plan view.

The Tasks panel The Tasks icon in the top bar is always visible, whether you're in day view or plan.

  • Tasks - your task list, organized by urgency. Each task shows its due date, size, and priority level. Click any task to open it, or click + Add Action to create a new one. For a full walkthrough visit How to create and manage Actions.

Tips

  • Use day view for managing the day in front of you, and switch to plan when you're preparing for the week ahead.

  • The protected badge on a day means that you’ve already met the meeting limits for that particular day and no further meetings can be booked

  • Tasks in the task panel are always visible, no matter which view you're in - so you won't lose sight of what's due even when you're deep in your calendar. You can also add tasks directly into your calendar when you're creating them.
